Welcome to Scott and Kerry Knudsen Galson's web site for their Peace Corps volunteer service in Suriname, South America. They were members of the sixth Peace Corps group to volunteer in Suriname. Their assignment was categorized as Rural Community Development / Non-Formal Education in a Maroon (Bush Negro) community in the rainforsest interior of Suriname. As community volunteers Scott and Kerry worked to improve the quality of life in their community through various projects. These projects included teaching English to teenage students at the only interior MULO school in Suriname and creating an after-school activities program for elementary and MULO school children.
